Stephan Oppenheimer

Stephan Oppenheimer is the Managing Partner of Pontalba Capital, a private investment firm focused on building innovative and purpose-driven businesses. Prior to founding Pontalba Capital, Mr. Oppenheimer spent five years as a Partner with Moelis Capital Partners, a private equity firm where he oversaw the business services practice, and ten years with CCMP Capital (fka JPMorgan Partners) in New York and London, where he led investments in the U.S. and internationally. He has served on the boards of or been significantly involved in numerous companies including sustainable online marketplace Hive Brands, University Properties, healthcare lender MidCap Financial, Spanish cable operator Grupo Corporativo Ono, AMC Entertainment, and others. He has lived in New York, London and Paris, and participated in over 30 private equity investments, including in the US, Spain, Romania, the Czech Republic, Germany, Chile, and others.
He currently serves on the board of ParentChild+, an early childhood literacy non-profit, and has advised two health care initiatives in Ghana and Burkina Faso in Western Africa. Throughout his career, he has been on the boards of or actively involved in several other non-profit organizations, including Youth I.N.C. and City Harvest. He received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Virginia and an M.B.A. from The Darden Graduate School of Business at the University of Virginia.
